Competition rules

1.The promoter

This competition is run by The Back, operated by Bottles & Glasses (“we”, “us”, “the promoter”), and is powered by Best Whiskey as commercial partner.

The Back administers the league, verifies winners and approves and processes all prize payments. Best Whiskey supports the member benefit, prize pool and branded activity.

This competition is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or administered by the Premier League, Fantasy Premier League or the Football Association. “Fantasy Premier League” and “Premier League” are the property of their respective owners. TBD subject to FPL/IP permission being confirmed.

2.Eligibility

• Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Age confirmation is mandatory because this competition includes alcohol-related benefits. We may request proof of age at any point, and will refuse a benefit or prize where age cannot be confirmed.
• Entry is open to invited customers and invitees. There is no geographic restriction and no cap on the number of participants.
• One FPL team per person. Entering more than once — including via additional email addresses or FPL accounts — may result in all of your entries being disqualified.
• Staff of The Back and Bottles & Glasses, Best Whiskey representatives, and their immediate families may take part for community participation.
• However, anyone who administers standings, verifies winners or approves payments is not eligible for cash prizes. This protects the integrity of the competition.

3.How to enter

1. Complete the registration form at theback.bottlesandglasses.com.ng, confirming you are 18+ and accepting these rules.
2. Join the official mini-league in the Fantasy Premier League app using code MS73EF. Your entry is not complete until you have done this — registering on our site alone does not place you on the table.
3. We verify your FPL manager ID against the mini-league and issue your digital member pass.

Entry is free. No purchase is necessary to register or to compete for prizes.

Deadline: late entry is permitted until the close of Gameweek 5. After that, registration closes for the season.

Note that under official FPL rules, mini-league scoring runs from the gameweek in which you join. Joining later in the window means you score from that point forward, not retrospectively. This is an FPL platform rule and is outside our control.

4.Member benefit

Verified members receive 5% off all Best Whiskey SKUs at The Back and Bottles & Glasses on every Premier League matchday.

• Applies to Best Whiskey branded products only — not to other whiskeys or other brands.
• Valid on Premier League matchdays only, subject to stock availability.
• No minimum spend and no cap on redemptions.
• Not combinable with any other offer, discount or promotion.
• Requires a valid, verified member pass presented at the point of sale. Staff will check the name on the pass against the member register.
• Passes are personal and non-transferable. Sharing a pass may result in withdrawal of membership.
• Responsible service and legal-age requirements apply at all times. We may refuse service at our discretion.

5.Prizes

The total cash prize pool is ₦1,000,000.

Additional non-cash prizes — Best Whiskey bottles, merchandise, tastings and experiences — may be awarded during the season, subject to partner allocation. TBD non-cash prize inventory to be confirmed.

TBD The eight qualifying monthly periods will be published before the first monthly award is decided.

Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative to non-cash prizes. We reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value where necessary.

6.How winners are decided

• Overall places are decided by final standing in The Back FPL mini-league at the close of the 2026/27 Premier League season, as published by the official FPL platform.
• Monthly Manager awards go to the member with the highest points total scored within each published monthly period.
• FPL Cup is decided by the official FPL Cup competition. Because the Cup runs outside the mini-league table, we verify Cup results manually.

The official FPL platform is the single source of truth for all scoring. Where our display and the FPL platform disagree, the FPL platform prevails.

7.Tie-breakers

TBD The tie-breaker hierarchy must be confirmed and published before the first prize is decided. The intended order is:

1. Fewest transfers taken (lowest total points deducted for extra transfers).
2. Highest single-gameweek score across the relevant period.
3. Highest bench points total.
4. If still level, the tied prize amounts are combined and split equally.

This section is not final and is subject to approval.

8.Team names and conduct

TBD Offensive team-name policy to be finalised. The intended position:

FPL team names that are obscene, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, or that impersonate another person or brand, are not permitted. We may ask you to change a team name, and may remove an entry from the league and from prize eligibility if you do not.

We also expect members to behave respectfully in our WhatsApp community, in venue and on our social channels.

9.Verification and disqualification

Before any prize is paid we verify: your identity, your age, that your FPL manager ID matches your registration, and that your entry has been in the mini-league for the relevant period.

We may disqualify an entry, withdraw membership and withhold a prize where we reasonably believe there has been:

• Multiple or duplicate entry by the same person.
• Registration using false, borrowed or misleading details.
• Sharing, selling or transferring a member pass.
• Any attempt to manipulate the competition, the standings or the redemption process.

TBD The evidence standard and the appeal route for a disqualification decision are to be confirmed.

10.Claiming a prize

Winners are contacted using the email address and phone number given at registration. You can also start a claim from the Claim a prize section of our site.

• TBD Claim deadline to be confirmed. Our intended position is that a prize must be claimed within 30 days of the winner being notified.
• TBD Treatment of unclaimed prizes after the deadline to be confirmed.
• Payment is made by The Back to a bank account in the winner's own name. We do not pay third parties.
• TBD Any withholding tax, reporting obligation or recipient tax liability on cash prizes is to be confirmed following tax advice. Where deduction at source is required by law, prizes are paid net.

Providing accurate payment details is your responsibility. We are not liable for a payment that fails because incorrect details were supplied.

11.Your data

We collect your name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, FPL team name, FPL manager ID and favourite club in order to run the league, verify winners and deliver the benefits you have opted into.

• Updates by WhatsApp and email are sent only where you gave that separate consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Publication of your name and FPL team name as a winner happens only where you gave that separate consent. You can still win and be paid without it.
• Service messages about your own registration — your confirmation and your member pass — are sent regardless, because you asked us to enter you.

TBD A full privacy notice compliant with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, stating lawful basis, retention period, processor access and your rights, will be published alongside these rules.

12.Responsible drinking

Nothing in this competition should be taken as encouragement to drink excessively. The member benefit is a discount on price and carries no obligation to purchase.

13.General

• By entering, you accept these rules.
• We may amend these rules where necessary — for legal, regulatory or operational reasons. Material changes will be communicated to registered members, and the version published here is the version that applies.
• We may suspend, amend or withdraw the competition if events outside our reasonable control make it necessary. Where we do, we will act fairly toward members who have already entered.
• The promoter's decision on all matters relating to this competition is final, subject to the verification and appeal provisions above.
• These rules are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
